Accounting for Business Owners (ABO) is an intuitive, easy-to-use transaction recording and financial statement program created for small businesses and self-employed individuals. Training time is negligible; a knowledge of accounting theory is not required.

It is particularly ideal for business owners who do not require all of the features of mainstream accounting programs.

Working with ABO is Easy

Recording transactions is as easy as selecting "Data Entry" from the menu and choosing the appropriate journal: cheques, deposits, sales, or general journal. Transactions may be entered in the journals before the account is set up in the trial balance.

Recurring payees and their related account numbers can be entered automatically; cheque and invoice numbers can be incremented automatically. When exiting from the cheque, deposit or sales journals, ABO creates an automatic offset to a default account or prompts for an account of your choice. All options include manual override.

Reconciling bank accounts is as easy as selecting "bank reconciliation" and following the prompts.

The trial balance contains sufficient pre-entered accounts for most small businesses. Adding accounts is simply a matter of selecting "Insert Row" from the ABO menu and following the prompts.

Posting to the trial balance and updating the financial statements is automatic.

The financial statements include automatic percentage analysis and prior year comparison. Income statements can be produced monthly and annually.

The cheque and sales journals can be sorted by date, reference or account number sequence. Analyzing accounts is as easy as selecting "Account Analysis" from the menu.

Errors can be corrected by overtyping the errant data. Out-of-balance indicators for each journal as well as the trial balance ensure errors are quickly found.

Printing is just a matter of selecting "Print" from the ABO menu and following the prompts.

ABO runs in Excel 97 and higher.

Only a basic spreadsheet knowledge is required to run ABO. All spreadsheet commands have been automated and all formulas are cell-protected. The manual is concise and includes examples. Installation is automatic.

Priority Support is available for $100 annually. The Priority Support Plan includes: Updates within the same version of ABO; Unlimited telephone support using our toll-free 800 number; and repair of damaged files.

Non-priority support is available by fax or email at no charge. Support requests will be handled within 36 to 48 hours. We will also attempt to repair damaged files. However, a minimum charge of $150 will apply in each case.
